Albanian Boston Community

Albanian Boston Community, also known as the Albanian Boston Community Center and operating under the Albanian name Cunat e Bostonit, is a membership-based Albanian social club serving the North Shore region north of Boston. Its Peabody location sits at 26 Howley Street, and the same organization — incorporated as Albanian Boston Community Inc. — purchased the former Elks Club building at 39 Bow Street in Beverly for $1.14 million to open a second clubhouse there.

The stated mission, repeated on the organization's own site and on its Greater Beverly Chamber of Commerce listing, is to improve the social life of Albanians living in Boston and across New England. In court filings related to the Beverly property, the group's attorney described a membership of roughly 200 people, about 60 of them from Beverly itself.

The club functions primarily as a gathering place. A public Facebook post identifies Endri Kumre, Artur Bocova, and Ardi Bocova as co-founders of the Albanian Boston Community Center, and Ardi Bocova is the contact of record on the Greater Beverly Chamber listing. The Beverly site has hosted high-profile community events, including a visit by Albanian President Bajram Begaj and the First Lady.

The Peabody clubhouse has also drawn local press attention through city licensing: in 2023 the Peabody City Council suspended the club's special operating permit for three months, and The Daily Item reported that the Howley Street club reopened without alcohol when the suspension expired on June 14.
