Albanian Student Association at University of Houston (ALSA UH)

The Albanian Student Association at University of Houston, known as ALSA UH, is a campus cultural organization for students at the University of Houston. Its public bio states the mission plainly: "Representing and educating on Albanian heritage, everyone is welcome." Membership is open to Albanian and non-Albanian students alike.

ALSA UH frames itself as a space for the young Albanian diaspora in Houston to gather, while also introducing the wider student body to Albanian culture. A November 10, 2025 article in The Daily Cougar, UH's student newspaper, covered the group under the headline "Albanian Student Association aims to share culture on campus," describing it as a cultural organization that welcomes both Albanian and non-Albanian students.

The association is new. Its founder and president, Elisa Mulla, a student in UH's Jack J. Valenti School of Communications, lists her role as beginning in September 2025. ALSA UH runs regular meetings in a 6:30–7:30 PM window and keeps in touch with members through Instagram and a GroupMe chat.

ALSA UH is a registered student organization under University of Houston policies, not a separate nonprofit. It should not be confused with AASOHTX, the Albanian American Student Organization of Houston Texas, which is a distinct 501(c)(3) entity in the city.
