Albanian Students' Association at Hunter College

The Albanian Students' Association at Hunter College is a student club based at Hunter College, the CUNY campus on Manhattan's Upper East Side. It runs under the Instagram handle @illyrianhawks and presents itself as a cultural and social home for Albanian students, and for non-Albanian students curious about the culture, on the Hunter campus.

Most of what the group does is on-campus programming. A flyer for its final event of the spring 2025 semester, held May 13 in Thomas Hunter Hall room 208/9 from 3:00 to 6:00 pm, advertised music, dancing, community, and çaj — the Albanian tea that anchors a lot of the club's gatherings. The tone of the posts is informal and student-run, built around bringing people into the room rather than formal speakers or panels.

The association is included in the Albanian American Civic League and Albanian American Foundation's directory of Albanian organizations in the United States, which places it within the broader Albanian-American network in New York alongside community groups and other campus chapters. Its day-to-day reach, though, is the Hunter student body.

No founding year, officer roster, or formal mission statement for the Hunter chapter is published in the sources available, and the group does not appear to operate as a separately incorporated nonprofit — it functions as a campus student organization.
