Shoqata Malësia e Madhe - New York

Shoqata Malësia e Madhe – New York (Malesia e Madhe Association – New York) is a nongovernmental, nonprofit Albanian-American organization based at 1007 Yonkers Avenue in Yonkers. The group's own description frames its work around humane, educational, cultural, and democratic principles, serving the diaspora from the Malësia e Madhe region — the highlands straddling northern Albania and southern Montenegro — while supporting families back home.

Much of the association's public work centers on education. In coverage by Malesia.org, the organization awarded 27 scholarships for the 2025–2026 academic year to students from Malësia. Gazeta Dielli reported on a fundraising dinner in New York that brought in roughly $80,000 for high-achieving students from the region. Plava e Gucia Sot also documented a $25,000 emergency contribution to Malësia, publicly acknowledged by the mayor of the Municipality of Tuzi.

The association also serves as a cultural anchor for Albanian-Americans in the New York area. It has organized commemorations tied to Malësia's history, including an April 2022 event marking the 111th anniversary of the Malësia Uprising, alongside literary evenings and community gatherings posted through its Yonkers-based Facebook page and the @shoqatammny Instagram account.

Governance is handled by a Steering Council (Këshilli Drejtues) that holds regular elections. Bota Sot reported that Senad Lulanaj was elected president for a two-year mandate in February 2024, a role also referenced in Malesia.org's coverage of the association's activities.
