Shoqata Shqiptaro-Amerikane Valët e Liqenit

Shoqata Shqiptaro-Amerikane Valët e Liqenit is a Chicago-area community association formed by Albanians from Struga and Ohrid who settled in Chicago and its suburbs. The group's stated aim is to continue Albanian culture and traditions in the diaspora, with particular attention to the younger generation growing up in Chicagoland.

The association's first Electoral Assembly was held on April 2, 2017, when members chose their first leadership. Governance runs on a two-year cycle: the General Assembly reports on activities for the mandate and elects a new Kryesi (executive board). Meetings and events have been hosted at suburban venues in the western Chicago metro, including an address on W. North Ave in Elmhurst, IL.

Programming centers on cultural and social gatherings tied to the Struga and Ohrid heritage of its members. The association organizes a recurring event called Mbërmja e Liqenit (Evening of the Lake); its 2023 edition was noted by North Macedonia's Ministry of Political System and Inter-Community Relations as organized by Valët e Liqenit. Event announcements have also listed visiting guests from the home region, including Ziadin Sela, MP for Struga.

Within the Chicago Albanian-American community, Valët e Liqenit sits alongside other place-of-origin associations and specifically serves families with roots in Struga and Ohrid.
