Shqiptarët në Wisconsin (Albanians of Wisconsin)

Shqiptarët në Wisconsin (Albanians of Wisconsin) is a community organization centered on the Milwaukee area and the suburb of Oak Creek. It began as a private Facebook group launched by Blerina "Lina" Zagloul on November 26, and at the time of a Wisconsin Muslim Journal profile the group had 473 members. Zagloul has been working to register it as an official nonprofit.

The group describes its mission as enhancing the well-being of the Albanian community and helping members through education, information sharing, advice, resources, and cultural events. It runs weekly and monthly activities for youth and seniors and works to promote Albanian culture in the wider Milwaukee community.

Much of the in-person programming has moved to the Oak Creek Library, near the area's sizable Albanian population. The organization has also offered to host Albanian cultural exhibits at community and school festivals around the region.

Even without a permanent physical home, the group is operating actively, with Zagloul publicly setting a longer-term goal of building it into a full-service community center for Albanian Americans in Milwaukee and its suburbs. It joins a small set of Albanian institutions in Wisconsin — separate from the older American Albanian Islamic Center of Wisconsin in Kenosha and the Madison-based student and community groups — and focuses specifically on Albanian families in the Milwaukee metro.
